Get Out Without Getting Soaked
Mongoose Junction is your rainy-day best friend. This open-air shopping area makes it easy to duck in and out of unique boutiques, art galleries, and studios. You’ll also find excellent restaurants, bars, a brewery, and even a coffee shop tucked inside the art studio—perfect for lingering over a latte while the rain passes.
Hike Smarter, Not Hotter
If it’s a safe rainy day, hiking can actually be better than trekking under the blazing sun. The trails are cooler, quieter, and extra lush. Bonus tip: the Petroglyphs are easiest to see in the rain—the carvings really pop when wet. Just be sure to wear sturdy shoes that can handle mud and slick terrain, as it’s a hill hike.
